The creation of mission and vision statements often ends up as bullshit, and it’s a great pity. Why is that?
- Often, they are vague and lack substance.
- They lack a story and explanation.
- They don’t answer the question of why I’m doing this and where I’m heading.
- They don’t communicate within the company.
- They don’t translate into how various parts of the company contribute to them.
- They exist only on paper, or they are just mechanical.
Everything often ends with the mission and vision hanging on the walls of the company, and the exercise is closed. 😊 Do you know this feeling? 🙈
However, it can be done differently. Companies with strong and vibrant missions and visions are purpose-driven. These companies have happier employees and customers and generally achieve higher profits.
I recently conducted a workshop for L’Oréal Consumer Products on how to achieve this. Would you like a workshop on this or any other topic in your company? Reach out to us, and we’ll figure it out together!
